I think i'm gonna need a new clutch soon for my MY93 WRX. I'm after some reccomendations. I know for certain that I don't want a paddle clutch as they're too impracticle for every day driving. I have looked and seen the uprated AP clutch kit that TSL have for sale. Has anyone got one fitted? Whats it like?
The car is basically standard and not wanting to break the bank! Any suggestions welcomed.

If its still fairly standard then you have to ask do you really need several hundred quids worth of AP "quality". You could try a Borg and Beck kit for less than £80 which has a 3 year warranty and is supposed to be pretty good.
Have a look at http://www.autospares-group.com
I got a quote from them and it came to £72.63 + VAT with free delivery. Haven't bought it yet though so I can't tell you about it!
Apparently, Subaru fit these as standard as do many other manufacturers.

Mark,
The borg and beck is by far the best deal I have found.
Jolly green monster has just fitted one and seems pretty happy with it.
I'm running just over 300bhp and I'm still gonna try the borg and beck. Alternatively, if you have money to spend then I have heard that lateral performance do a good one.
Remember to budget for either getting the flywheel skimmed or replaced.
Best of luck and let us know what you decide.

If you do not have big power then you do not need to spend money on an uprated clutch. The standard item was satisfactory on my car up to 350bhp.
I would suggest you contact Mark at Import Car Parts, Staindrop Road, West Auckland, Co. Durham. He regularly fits a clutch on a same day basis. You arrive 8.30am and drive away sorted some time after lunch. 01388 834204.
Good Luck.

Harvey's dead right.
I am running about 320 in my STi RA, and had to get a clutch quickly when it let go the day before Rockingham (MLR) last september.
As a last resort, I got a standard UK clutch ~ from Partco!
I have done about two dozen trackdays since, and about 18000 miles in all, and the clutch has been perfect.
Having said that, I'm not in to dropping the clutch at big revs, and haven't been to keen on sidestepping it lately (mainly cos it scares me).
Clutch complete cost me £110 incl. VAT.
hope this helps

If you go for the AP kit make sure it comes in the kit as when i got mine i got the correct pressure plate with a daikin friction plate thrown in, not what should have been in the kit. The parts were incompatible as i found out after having the items fitted!
Not pleased!!

Just to say that I have bought the kit from Grade-A Subaru after talking to Andrew at the NBO. Will post the results after I get it fitted. Hope it performs as well as it looks, nice piece of kit (as far as clutches go!)
