Unhappy

coming from the driver's side rear wheel area.

Driving along a private, unmade track (taking it very slowly), I caught the exhaust on a rather large pothole. After inspecting for damage (none apparent), I drive off but I can now hear a creaking sound coming from the rear of the car. A couple of minutes later the CEL comes on, but disappears again after five minutes or so.

Get back to work for closer inspection and find that the creaking sound can be initiated by bumping the car up and down on the right rear corner (and to a lesser extent on the left hand side).

I'm guessing there's a problem with the suspension, but I haven't got a clue as to what it might be.

Bit concerned about the CEL as well, I wouldn't have thought that it would have come on for a (potential) suspension problem.

Any idea anyone?

Matt

MY94 WRX Wagon, 44,000 miles and I suspect still on the original suspension bits and pieces.

Its not possible to say without seeing the car, maybe one of the exhaust rubber O rings has slid off its mounting. Can't give any reason for the CEL though.
