Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who offered help, with my AFR, and red light on WOT thread
against all odds tonight, I found a new Lambda Sensor from Halfords, and it was 25 quid so I bought it
after quite a while removing the heatshield (whilst warm too), then finding I didnt have a 20mm spanner, I managed to get the old lambda sensor out
I buggered about with the wiring to swap connectors over, and fitted the new Lambda, and have just been out for a drive
AFR now reads full rich on WOT, and the other thing is that the car now goes like stink, especially at 3.5k, response is massively different to how it was
I guess the old sensor must have been on its was out for a while now, as I hadnt really noticed any drop in performance
Its still going to the dealers on Saturday for a Select Monitor session, and now at least if the problem re-appears, I know what it will be
Once again many thanks for all your help
Cheers

My car is a MY00, and yes Halfords do stock them apparently
be warned tho, they are not a direct swap, the sensor itself is, but not the connector, so some messing about has to be done, but at a quarter of the price, and me being unsure that my Lambda was faulty, i took a chance
Part no. L300.. halfords code 180398..
Listed as an oxygen sensor..

glad its sorted mate but dont want put water on your bonfire, but they dont last very long, as the heat generated from the scoob engine usually makes them let go after a shot while i have been the same on my old car celica GT4.

Thanks Dan
I dont expect it to last too long, but at least I'll know when it does go, and then it will be an official replacement
I was a little bit reluctant to pay top wack for one, in case it wasnt the sensor, but I was prepared to pay the 25 quid from Halfords and mess about with the connectors
Now I know it definatly was the sensor, I can get one in readiness over the next few months
Car is still going in this morning, for a session on the Select Monitor, and im gonna book my 3 year service too whilst Im there
