Noisy dump valve
#2
I was speaking to a bloke who said that by simply puting in a performance panel filter, you can hear a loud dump! Is this true anyone, mine is a MY98 uk car. I had a Bailey Piston dump valve on my s2 RSTurbo and that was loud!

Putting in a perfomance panel filter should make no difference to sound, as air is recirculated back into the induction.
Removing the original airbox and fitting a cone filter allows the standard recic dump valve to be heard
Possible the loudest dump valve to fit is, obviously, a VTA such as the Blitz Super Sound. Some later MY's don't like VTA dump valves as it effcts idle.

ive just just fitted a blitz SUS Power induction kit, and i havnt got a dunmp valve. the blitz alone sounds brilliant and you get a great dump sound. but i am also getting a turbo xs dump valve from impossible performance which are apparently the loudest ones you can get

The SQV can also be tuned to the sound you like by changing the inserts, Normal is high pitch, you can have higher or lower or remove it compleatly for quieter. And that twin piston noise is good
