Contact the person who supplied it mate, none of em bite and can let you know exactly what to do.
Another thing to do if you can... Take a picture of the ecu internals and post it, it is hard to advise without knowing what your specific board looks like.

It sounds like your ecu hasn't got the 28pin adapter socket soldered to the mainboard. I presume your scoobyecu is the same as the one on www.scoobyecu.co.uk ? Also if you look at the fitting instructions it shows the additional 28pin socket with clear tape over it, has yours got this or just a space where it should be?

jap cars need the socket soldering in.. I can supply a socket or can do it for you..
alternatively a tv repair shop..
