Unhappy

Hi
Ive got a MY94 UK Impreza Turbo
Out and about round town today i noticed a slight smell of coolant no problem i thought ill check it when i get in went down a short strech of duel carrageway (1 mile'ish) half way down coolant was being thrown onto the screen then steam started bellowing from the driver side vent, I pulled over checked under the bonnet, and found coolant all over the inside front drivers side corner i looked for leaks but couldnt find any, got the car home ok no over heating no obvious leaks i checked what hoses i could but nothing. could it have just got abit hot and discharged some coolant but why all over the screen?? (i think not)
Anyone got any idears on this im gonna look again shortly now its cooled down but not sure where to look first.

Thanks Tim

check the front of the plastic end tanks on the radiator, they are prone to cracking.

changed mine last week with this problem.

Question

I have a similair problem on my MY98, UK car. I just thought I needed a full new radiator (c.£280, excluding VAT and labour from Subaru!) It took me ages to find the problem as it was a small leak.
So can you get these plastic end parts sperately can you? Do Subaru stock them, how much are they and how easy are they to fit?

Tim,

Cheers mate, I thought that would be the case. What is the problem with the fan cover bolts then?
