Strange tyre wear

Just checked my tyres and found some strange tyre wear.... namely that the inside of the front nearside tyre is well worn, but the other 3 tyres on the car are all wearing normally.
Any ideas?

Ok.. I've had the tracking checked using laser technology (or whatever its called) and all camber and alignment settings are within acceptable parameters. (all in the green zones)
Tyre pressures are fine....
How can I tell if a damper's on its way out?

With mine, I did a combination of the "bounce test" and a visual inspection of the damper. Knackered dampers tend to leak and don't damp the car's oscillations. This is masked by stiff springs a bit, so the bounce test on it's own doesn't always work.
I don't know any more than the basics when it comes to suspension. Do you spend your days going round roundabouts in your Scoob? (Suspension is always deformed one way - hence uneven wear)
Hope you get it sorted! These things can be a PITA - much black magic involved....

Just re-read your last post - if there was a damper issue, surely the alignment place should have found it!
(Mind you, I had a clearly leaking damper, and ATS, who are renound for trying to sell things, told me that it would be OK...
Needless to say, it was replaced quickly.

The local tyre places don't even look for dodgey dampers normally.
the best way if found is:
a. have a good look for leaks etc.
b. Jack the wheel off the ground (using all the standard safety precautions! - isn't health and safety great!).
then grab hold of the wheel and try lifting it against the spring. You shouldn't beable to move it at all, but if it moves an inch or so the damper has gone.
hope this helps combined with bounce test.

all advice given is of my own experience and is not the gospel!
