I bought a 93 jap import last summer it was runing fine until christmas, then it developed a problem with the boost running only 0.5 on the boost guage and only sometimes it would work at full boost (1 bar).I took the car down to camebridge where they ran a boost test but all was workin fine,i drove away disapointed.
Then i took my car for a diagnostics where they found a problem. It turned out to be the ECU not letting the car run at full boost,so they suggested i replase the ECU to a thing called a "Baby Board" (cuz its an early impreza)
Fixin the boost problem and givin me an upgrade at the same time.

I was just wondering wether anyone else has experienced this problem,if so did you notice a power increase when sorted?

Cheers Tombsie

Its not very often that Jap imports will run to the full amount of boost. Its because of the RON value of the fuel here, basically it doesn't let the motor produce as much BHP as the fuel in Japan. My MY93 WRX runs at about 0.75 bar when not played with. With the Dawes device it runs at 1 bar.
