Am i right in thinking these are only neccessary when upping the boost? The standard ones can cope just about with standard boost levels (3 bar at idle and rising with boost).
If not what are the reasons?

3 bar at idle

boost should be (on the guage anyway) well below zero at idle and max should be in and around 0.8 - 0.9 bar.

cheers

sorry, wasnt very clear. I meant are they only neccessary when upping turbo boost as the fuel pressure in the rails has to increase from 3 bar at idle plus whatever the turbo boost is. So if your ruuning 1.4 bar of turbo boost the fuel pressure raises from 3 to 4.4 bar (which the standard pumps might struggle)
