Sure it's not low brake fluid? That's what it is on most cars shared with the handbrake light and I thought the scoob was no exception.

Cool

A low brake fluid level generally indicates that the pads have worn down a lot. It will also, of course, warn of brake fluid loss, if that _were_ to happen, however, it's not normal to loose a significant amount of brake fluid from the system between pad changes/brake bleeding sessions.

Either way, it makes sense to take this light seriously and check what's causing it as soon as you can after seeing it. If the light were to switch on and remain on whilst you are cruising along on a level surface, rather than initially flashing up during heavy braking or on steep gradients only, it _may_ indicate a sudden serious loss of fluid, so pulling up and checking it ASAP would be a good idea.

Mine used to stay on as well. But according to the mechanic that cured it.It was because the previous Japanese owner had the Turbo timer earthed to the sender?

Turbo timer is usually wired to the handbrake switch (which operates the light) so that the engine will stop if the handbrake is released while the timer is running it. Seems it wasn't wired up right or was fault and providing a ground through that wire while off.

The level switch can get a bit stuck. Take the cap off the brake fluid pot and give the thing that bobs about a tap or too. Mine did this recently.... not come back on since.

Tony.
