On Saturday I needed to replace a bulb behind my fuel guage (95 wrx). I did this, but disconnected the speedo cable etc to do it. After replacing all the leads and driving for a few miles the CEL came on. I thought it might have been the speedo cable not back properly, but teh speed seems to be displayed correctly

There was no sign of an error light before I changed the bulb, so I'm assuming this has had something to do with it.

I then read the ecu which gave fault codes 11 (crank shaft sensor),23 (maf),33 (veh speed sensor).

Again after a few miles the light came on again. I thought that the connection might not have been too good, so took the dash out again, everything was alright, the speedo cable was very tightly connected. Can this be pushed on too tightly?

By the time I'd got home it had gone off.Anybody any ideas as to why this is? Surley the light shouldn't come on and go off again on it's own?

Would it be best to re-set the ecu and see if the error pops up again?

Cheers,
Gus

Could be an intermittend connection i.e. in your excercise you loosened something(s) that now depending on the bumps does make contact, then doesn't, etc.
