Red face

Just had a slight scary moment which was something along the lines of my93 wrx + hot exhaust manifold + lambda sensor wiring catching maniford = flames from under bonnet !!!!!

Quick question, probably obvious but is there going to be any problems with moving the Lambda sensor from the headers into the downpipe where the egt probe used to be, I have a H&S downpipe which has a boss in the hole, and i belive they are the same thread size

Any help appreciated to stop the car going up in flames !!

Rich

Ive got the same as you, a Lambda sensor boss in the downpipe. I had to change the sensor to get through the MOT and put the old sensor in the downpipe to block the hole. I have now connected the AFR to the old sensor and the indications appear to be as they should be,in other words the sensor was ok anyway! I intend to connect to that sensor for the ECU as well soon, I dont expect it to be a problem. Someone said the the sensor wire for the front Lambda is just long enought to re-route to the downpipe one.
