Sorry if i'm posting this in the wrong forum...

As some of you may be aware i picked up my MY00 turbo a couple of weeks back.
Whilst driving home from work today i decided to switch on the air con. But i really didn't notice any difference between air con on, and air con off.
So how effective is it really? I mean, i've experienced some cars where it'd be warmer sitting in a freezer, than having the air con on.

Any suggestions as to why the system doesn't appear to be kicking out cold air? The green light did come on when the button was pushed, so as far as i know the system was working.

If it's knackered then obviously i'll take it back to the dealer, but I want to try to rule out the stupid things before that happens.

Ta,

Mentat

sounds like it is out of air-con gas.

air con service should cost you about £45.00 from a dealer, you should not need one for at least 3 years from the registration of the vehicle, a service should sort out this problem though. My air con works fine and has never had a service (MY00) and does push out plenty of cold air when asked to.

Also, it may have run out of gas if the condensor is damaged. Somehow, the one on my old MY99 got punctured with a stone and IM refused to fix it under warranty claiming it was "accidental" damage It was going to cost me £500 to fix, so I just opened the window instead
