Unhappy

hi all when my 98wrx has been out for a run the tickover is up and down, like hunting for idle,i went to my dealer for a maf senser but the part was too long to fit in my airbox,so wasn't the same, when i took the four screws out and pulled the black connector away from the airbox all there was ,was three prongs that connect to three little bits sticking out.Has anyone got an idea where to get a new one from, and is it the black connector or the senser that is still in my airbox that is at fault?or is it something else?only happens when the car has been for a long run an warm.any help appreciated, thanks clive.

I had similar issues, and after a drive up to HDC Subaru, they fitted an admittedly second hand unit for £60. After a quick test drive I handed over the cash, cause it fixed my problems which sound very similar to yours. You need to speak to Howard I think, the website is: www.hdcsubaru.com or you can call them on 01422 846868. Very helpful, very knowledgable, and very reasonable. No affiliation, just really pleased customer

The lambda sensor in the exhaust is your other option. Has the fuel consumption gone up a bit?
