I have just connected the wires to display stored engine probs, the reset the ecu, drove the car re-checked the engine check sequence and it doesn't display any code only flashes constantly, I got to 40ish long flashes before I stopped counting. Is this normal???

 

Yes, if the flashes are at 1 second intervals.

 

it goes up to 52 flashes IIRC
