hey Brett hows it all going?

engine rev's drop alittle when slowing down???
yes check the MAF asap..(you don't need to get the whole hog..just the sensor [think its around ~80qui] from the dealer).. MAF PartNo
you might also want to try putting the original re-circ dumpvalve back..
no FMIC yet? u added/changed anything?

cheers, damn still miss her!

I'm running a grham goode dump valve - NOISY

As for filters, I run the ITG panel replacement. If you wanna use anything else, you'll probably need a remap, or a box full of spare maf sensors.

I believe powerengineering do one specifically for the P1

dump valves stick to a recirc job like the forge..any airfilter will be a risk to maf but if u monitor it k@n seem to be safest bet

P1's are on the limits of running lean as they are. I wouldn't give the engine anymore air on my P1 without a remap. Got a Forge VTA dumpvalve on it though

Cool

hiya dude,

sorry missed the thread

yes go for the remap.. u won't be dissapointed..plus u'll be able to adjust the remap to any new mods as u go.. was going to do a FMIC and stuff.. magic 350bhp would have been nice!

M5.. its a totally different beast to the p1.. miss the turbo kick, and the 4wd drive stability around corners.. bimmer is totally solid, no rattles n squeeks..suspension is nice..and the torque.. hmm.. just another level (silky smooth power delivery).. amazing as the books say its around half a sec slower (0-60) than the p1 ..big phat mother..sure does shift, when in sports mode, traction control off!!!

Don't put a VTA on a P1 - Forge recirculating is better. VTA will not only cause the maf to get shagged eventually, but will also cause stall in the airflows causing the car to go rich briefly (nice pops out the back though) and then lean on each gearchange - leading to det.

Guru Bob Rawle posted to that extent on here a while ago and told me in person when I had my P1 remapped by him. I've got a HKS filter panel on mine.

Can vouch for Tin (P1 Scooby), I'm the guy who bought his old P1 (Y**5 ROR). The car is a pleasure to drive and the power delivery is unreal, although i've found that the car occasionally stalls and when depressing the clutch i.e slowing for a speed hump the revs drop right down to zero..! Hopefully going to get this prob checked out! Dealers couldn't find anything on the fault memory! could this have something to do with the air filter and dump valve? or the MAF sensor being knacked?

The car was dyno'd at 317 bhp! but there was a leak on the down pipe gasket so the power should be nearer 320..! the cars also got a scoobysport downpipe and milltek centre and backbox!
