I have noticed that the outside temp indicator on my STI8 PPP is reading about 10oC too high,

Does anyone know if this temperature indication is used in the engine managment or the climate control system???

Where is the sensor located???

Can it be sorted???

Thanx in advance

Hello. I don't know that I'm able to help you, but you might be able to help us over in the States trying to retrofit STi clusters into WRXs. Is your sensor part# 73730FE010? We're trying to determine if there are different sensors. It seems that there are two versions of gauge clusters for North America, part# 85021FE050 reads in MPH and 85021FE060 in KPH.

Back to your temp reading hotter than ambient, does it get hot when sitting at a stoplight and cool when driving? The sensor is right by the radiator. Relocation might be the solution. Some sort of heat shield between the sensor and radiator might also work.

I don't believe that sensor is used for engine management.

The AC has it's own internal sensor - so it's not needed for that!
