Guys,

Really need some help here..

I have a MY98 Turbo (Terzo), Up till yesterday she was totally standard, but now fitted a Magnex D/P, and a Sebring Back Box.. left the centre as standard (Combination of cash/mot due next week). Sounds beautiful, big grins pulling out the garage, poddling through town... right up to the point where i sat in the traffic, listening to the revs drop to about 300-400rpm.. she sounds like its about to stall.. Also noticed, i have hardly any boost, the take off is terrible. Decided to see what top end was like..120!! (Private road..)!!

I've tried dissconecting the battery to reset the ECU.. but to no effect. Not sure whats going on... not very technical when it comes to cars...Also, running on Optimax.. filled up yesterday.. 82 miles later and i'm below half way on my tank..

Many thanks for any help offered..

Jon

sounds like it could be the lambada sensor (fitted to top of downpipe). But probably wrong.

Cheers Kev..

Were you on the Louth/Wragby road friday morning about 9:30..? Heading towards Wragby..?

Would it just be a case of replacing the Lambda?

Does disconnecting the battery really reset the ECU? I thought this had to be done by someone "in the know"...

Hay.. Never said i was "In the Know...".. You'd be amazed at how quick someone with a little Knowledge can bugger things up.. and i have no knowledge... nuf said really..

Fortunatly for me, i had a local garage do the downpipe.. after hearing of the nightmares people have with getting them off..

So, Lambda to be checked.. what does the Lambda do..? Been suggested that the ECU might be in Safe Mode... How do i tell?

The easiest way to reset the ecu is to connect the plugs under the dash, its easy to do,have a search and the info will be there.

Jon,make sure they reconnected the sensor mate,if it is duff i believe the ecu uses a different map and runs really rich,if you need any help give us a bell and nip over.

Jon ,the lambda sets the mixture at idle and cruise and the maf does it under load. As for limp mode my cel came on when i had probs the other week when in limp mode, you can also do the connections under the dash and it should tell you if you have a problem and what sensor is causing it.

No worries mate, To save you coming out to me i don't mind coming over to you if it's easier... Had a quick go at it just now... but not sure if i did it right.. shorted jumpers, depressed pedal, backed off halfway for a couple of secs.. igg on.. weird clicks and stuff(Is this normal?) engine on.. no check engine code.. still running crap...

sounds about right, mine did all the clicky bits when i reset it,check the connection at the lambda,it is to the left of the intercooler top of the dp,cant remember if you will be able to get to it if the heatshield is back on,there will be some piccys if you search, thats if you dont know what your looking for.

Will give you a bell tomorrow,we could try mine in it.

I'm off work most of the week, if you fancy a pint, give me a shout!!!

Many thanks for helping me out with this.
