Checked my gearbox oil last night - gone down from max to min in about 4 months.
No leaks are present as far as I can tell (gets parked on a concrete floor so anydrops would be really obvious) - anyone got any ideas where the oil is going and gb oil dosen't get consumed, as a rule, in the same way as engine oil...

checked my gearbox oil recently, only to find its dry, like not a sign of any oil at all. But I have no idea where to fill it from, and what to put in it! The cars been running fine since July when I bought it though....... Maybe I'm ruining my gearbox everytime I drive it........
Please give me some help

Thanks for the resposes - Sorry to say I'm gonna have to admit to being a dumbass here - was checking when warm but I think was misreading the dipstick - after adding .5 litres I notes the the level was about 10mm above high......
Gotta say though the G/B dipstick is VERY hard to read - have had to give mune a sort of brush finish at the end to give a better chance....

Put castrol sytrax 75W-90 in it. You will need about 3.5 litres.
Available from castrolclassicoils.com
It will make a big difference!
