my 97 superchip

Don't do it. Not the search facility as John has suggested the superchip part. Superchips will do harm to your car. They raise boost with trickery and do not supply fuelling etc. Money could be spent on much better toys.

I have an my97 chip and blled valve for sale at 100 quid all in, if you use one you want to up and monitor the fuel as well then its ok.
My uk was running 270 bhp with it with no probs but I'm after the gems ecu so I took it off to sell.
Edited to say that most probs with the chip seem to be with the imports because of the low quality fuel in the uk which exagerates the problem, but better to go the new ecu or re-map if funds allow, but as i said with upped fuel and a knocklink it could be a bargain...

Got an exhaust from Collins. I was tempted to get the powerchip, seemed very cheap. But after advice on these threads there was too much risk.
How long have you had it Stubee? Is your car a Jap import?

stubee doo, i have brought a uk Turbo 2000 with this Collins power chip, the de-cat exhaust which i asume is a mongoose and it has a bleed valve. is your boost at 20psi stable or does it reach 20 psi then drop back. i have just installed a boost guage and found that my car boosts to how ever far i am willing to let it by adjusting the bleed valve then slowly drops back to 13 psi reaching 19 psi but i have backed it down to 17 psi for now

If the collins chip is of the same design as the superchip i.e a fuel cut defender/disabler and a bleed valve, then 20psi is an awful lot of boost for a car that hasn't had any other form of mapping.
I can pretty much garuntee you will be off the scale at the top of your fuel/ignition map and will probably be running the same fuel & ignition at 16psi as you will at 20psi.
