Mines is a replacement ECU. I know of one car that went bang a little while ago using one of these ECU's.

They are mapped to use 100RON fuel, so not a lot of good for our cars.

Mine's website

I also found this on my WRX. Never had any issue's at all with it. I e-mailed MINES to find out what would be different from standard ECU. Here is the reply (excuse the broken english)

VX-ROM has become the following specification in Japan inside of the country.

EGuarantee to the owner who was registered with the first times.
ESetting whereby I show potential which the car has to the full whereby I fully think about the safety margin.
EVX-ROM changes speed limiter and rev limiter
EVX-ROM is doing boost cut control and fuel control and ignition time control.
EVX-ROM is controlling the boost pressure by a car kind by control of a computer.

When using VX-ROM, give it using high-octane(100) gasoline.

I do not open data of fuel control and ignition time control of VX-ROM to the public for a secret matter.

Rob, read my post.

From memory they cannot be re-mapped. But speak to Shin.
