You may have seen some of my other threads but this is how it goes!

UK 99 Turbo with new TEK2, Decat done a month ago

damp smells, checked water, was low, topped up, all fine

Today oily smoke from exhaust, checked oil and below LOW! engine running VERY hot for past few days too.

Just checked water header tank (the little one on the far right of engine bay at front), got gunky stuff like whats left around the bath around the top of the little tube, about 2" deep and all the way around, ie LOTS of it, its skin coloured.

I'm guessing something has given and i'm losing oil and water and they are mixing!

I'm not going to use the car and havent a clue what to do or who to see to fix it, anyone?

I'm going to phone scoobysport as they've done some work for me before, but who knows what damage i've been doing in the past week or so!

My damn lovely car was nice before I started getting it tinkered with

Oh and I just topped it up with Shell Helix Ultra 5-40W, was this a bad move, stuck a litre in cos thats all I could find and I wanted to get SOMETHING into it even if it was the wrong stuff!

BTW, I drove it at less than 1200rpm to get the oil, wasnt far, had no other way

Just a thought but I had the O2 sensor replaced cos it was faulty apparently, anyway the car was returning quite good MPG's, just over what you'd expect from the car, but the few tanks i've had since it was replaced (same time as tek2) i've been getting really good mileage from a tank, the current one is on 230 and i've got another 40 left in it which is surprising, you dont think the new sensor is telling the ECU to go easy on the fuel and as such its overheating?

This sounds like a cylinder head failure. Seek professional help on this one I'm afraid.

sounds like it, i'm assuming the subaru being a flat 4 has 2? one each side? I'm also guessing that you got to take apart most of the engine bay to replace them!

I wonder why its blown tho!
