Hi,
Help!
I have a '96 UK turbo, just changed air filter for a K+N 57i, sounded and ran lovely. Then changed exhaust HKS d/pipe, magnex centre and TSL Firestorm rear. Ever since car has really bad flat spot at exactly 4000rpm, it really holds back and acts like it is running out of fuel. At 5000ish it all comes back and flies round to the red line. This happens in 2nd, worse in 3rd, forget fourth/5th. Everything I have so far read about Subaru suggests that this is what everyone does first, but no mention that you need to do anything else to make it run properly. I have tried:

ECU reset... No different (in fact poss worse)
Adjustable boost (manual) No help
Fitted boost gauge... Loses boost when hits flat spot
Disconnected O2 sensor... Quite a lot better...
Also read fault codes... None recorded

Is there something fundamental I am missing?
Do I really need to chip it etc... just for these mods?
Any ideas please as I am honestly losing sleep over this!

Thanks, Rich.

All those mods improve/increase the overall flow of 'air' through the engine... so whats missing..???? 'fuel'

For those mods you want to be looking at a re-map... as you car will still me mapped for standard and you can only push that map so far....

just my basic opinion, someone with some more know how may be more technical..!!

So is it a piggy back chip, or an AFC...
Bearing in mind I am very poor!!!

Anyone anything for sale...

Stavros (or anyone),
Have just picked up a second hand AFC
Did you fit yourself... If so, I am happy with wiring it in, but do I need to reset ECU, and any tips for setting up (cannot afford dyno at the moment)??

Much appreciated, Rich
