Hi,
Just interested to know if when the motoring press quote a ''30-50 time in 3rd gear'' is this time taken as follows ..
Car at constant 30 in the chosen gear, floor the throttle and time until you hit 50 ...
or
is the time based on when the car passes the two speeds (30 and 50) in the chosen gear with the car already at full tilt?
I assume the first ...

I can only assume that things like 30-70 is measure between those points when the car is already at full chat. The scooby is quoted at 5.3 seconds from 30-70 and there is no way it would do that if you had to suffer some initial lag!
