This is what happened today, turned right come of the clutch then foot to the floor, half way through the revs my head nearly goes through the windowscreen as all the power just stops then a big bang out of the exhaust change to second and its fine ?

The car is a p1 with full de-cat,aps cold air kit, link ecu.

sounds like fuel cut, had it a few times and it is very severe, like you say head nearly through the windscreen.

are the mods recent?

oh right, so your ascociating the cut out with the corner only?, are you sure it wasn't a situation that created more load on the engine?, up hill etc, as you'd get more boost combined with coldest weather since the recent mods perhaps(also more boost)?.

tbh honest don't know anything about link ecu, do you know what your boost cut limit is?, possible the air filter is giving you more boost combined with load and weather related siuation causing fuel cut. But if you think it's corner related not sure its relevant to fuel cut???

Sounds a bit like fuel starvation to me?

If Your car has less than quarter of a tank of petrol and you take a left hander a bit too fast the fuel does'nt pick up from the tank thus sudden loss of power.

Hi...

I think Scott is right.
Happened to me quite a few times - and it only happens when low on fuel. And only on lefthand turns too...
Quite a surprise when it happens and for sure you're doing stuff where you'd rather be without surprises...

My MY95 WRX has just started doing that (3 times in the last 3 fast launches) 2 were in a straight line - can't say I noticed the fuel level but it never used to do it and it was all OK when i changed gear. Someone mentioned the waste gate could be sticking and so I'll be checking that at the week-end.

Jo

oh, and there's been no mods or changes to the car
