Ok we all like a bit of noise and maybe a flame at times, but does unburnt fuel igniting in the pipe work not seem a bit of a waste and a concern with regarding egt?

MY 97, full de-cat, itg and Dawes. Fed weekly on optimax and Millers OB.

Running >9%CO all the time but can I be too rich?

the amount of fuel you are talking is tiny, and on top of the egt doesnt go up as a result as the fuel only ignites once there is enough oxygen to do so, ie by the tail pipe exit.
