18" wheels and snow chains.

Hi everyone.
Just wonder if snow chains can be fitted to the 18" Prodrive wheels when the tyres are Bridgestones S-03 225-40-18. Car is 98MY
and suspension is Prodrive Proffesional ( very good investment I can say). By the way which are the best snow chains to buy as the weather here in Athens turns to arctic. Very low temps and snow every where. Not so expert driving in these conditions.

Snow in Athens.... really???
I once read an article that said the P1 was fitted with 17" not 18" as Prodrive wanted because they couldn't fit snow chains on the 18" wheels which is a requirement for Euro Type approval!
Given that your car is 98MY theres no difference from the P1 wheel arches, so I would assume you won't be able to fit chains - but I could be proobed wrong!
I have had similar snow problems living near the Alps in South Germany... My solution was set of 16" wheels with winter tyres! I also have snow chains but have never needed to fit them - winter tyres + AWD = the business!
Hope that helps ya!

Al,
Think you are right but it isn't easy to fit winter tyres to 18" only for snow conditions and change them after wards. AP racing brakes do not leave any chance for 16" wheels.
But there must be a solution with different snow products.
You nords must knowe better.

Continentals TS790V winter tyre is available in 225/40R18VXL size See Here!
Its a lot of hassle swapping tyres on the same rims, so a second set of rims is preferable and then you can just swap the wheels at home as needed - Either way is better than body shop repairs!
