this cant be normall can it, its not really that cold outside either
when warmed up it only drops to about 1.2k rpm

push the accelerater, when the revs drop very slowly it will be an air leak. Check all the hoses on tha airfilter and induction side of the engine, probably there is a loose connection..

Thanks Wally
I will check that out
it does only drop slowly after I touch the throttle in neutral
the funny thing is, I was looking at the airfilter casing this morning, and I thought it was loose, but on closer inspection it looked secure
the other thing I did, was drop my oil filler cap, and had to route around under neath to get it back, via the passnger wheel

Mine is a MY00
with Magnex Decat centre & backbox, and ITG Panel Filter
no other mods
it wasnt as bad tonight, checked hoses etc, all seem connected firmly
still idling around 1.2k, and if I blip the throttle it drops to about 1k

Sonic,
It could be your throttle position sensor, i had exactly the same symptons when mine went up the spout.
If you take it to your local dealer they should be able to put it on the 'select monitor', to make sure.
Cheers

When cold they tend to idle at 1500 and then drop to 900 after a while (94WRX)
May be different for other types of scoob?
Steve
Sorry didn't read the post properly. You are right shouldn't idle like that when warm. Mine is all over the place at the mo, a sensor is knacked don't know what one but it is not the MAF.
Running aftermarket induction kits such as HKS mushroom can cause havoc with the MAF.
