are'flames' out of the exhaust normal?

Hi
Just got another scoob (at last ), cracking cars, chuffed to bits with it....runs A1.
My m8 followed me home after picking it up....when we finally arrived home, he informed me (with a big grin) that the exhaust was shooting flames out of the pipe now and again, thing is, i took my time all of the way home (sort of).
Is this ok or an indication of a fault. The car runs very well and I dont mind the flame effect lol but wouldnt want to ignore it if it were a sign of a problem.
Any input appreciated. Thanks in advance.

decat's usally lick a bit of flame on lift off.
Get the car warmed up and go for a drive on a dark road. When you lift off you should see a yellow flash in your mirrors.
Cheers.
Ian.

Mine doesn't
I am running a dawes though so it may be a little lean. I do hear the odd pop and bang changing down to high revs.
Got a Forge vent to atmos DV too.
