Hi

Just got another scoob (at last :D), cracking cars, chuffed to bits with it....runs A1.

My m8 followed me home after picking it up....when we finally arrived home, he informed me (with a big grin) that the exhaust was shooting flames out of the pipe now and again, thing is, i took my time all of the way home (sort of).

Is this ok or an indication of a fault. The car runs very well and I dont mind the flame effect lol but wouldnt want to ignore it if it were a sign of a problem.

Any input appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If the cars got a full decat system and an induction kit, you've got nothing to worry about, if it still has both cats, WORRY!

nice1 Ron! it has no cats and induction so that'll be it..phew :).

Do all decat cars do this ?

I've seen a lot of black sooty stuff over the tailpipe,
and was wondering whether this was happening to mine ?

decat's usally lick a bit of flame on lift off.
Get the car warmed up and go for a drive on a dark road. When you lift off you should see a yellow flash in your mirrors.
Cheers.
Ian.

Mine doesn't :(
I am running a dawes though so it may be a little lean. I do hear the odd pop and bang changing down to high revs.

Got a Forge vent to atmos DV too.

Mine does! Its always popped and banged and now i've got an induction kit the flames are really noticeable. Stops peolpe tailgating anyway:D
