Just put 801 in and it feels no different,couple of questions.

Will the ecu run advance until it sees knock then retard or run to a ceiling and only retard if it sees knock,my knocklink saw nothing and i was expecting a bit of knock especially as the juice has been in the tank for 3 months due to lack of use.

Did it feel no different because i run a bit more boost and this masks out the benifits of the ecu.

Also i put the ecu in warmed it up on tickover,shut it down ,next day warmed her up on the road and hammered it to the test centre for its first mot and it was left running for 1/2 hour while they tested all the other stuff before the emissions,Should i reset it then take it for a blast straight away.

A 3-5% improvement is very subtle. Simple as that.

I swapped an 801 into a MY00 car for someone and the difference was immediate. Are you sure you got an 801, or just the cover on an 802?

Have you got a Dawes already? You won't see the difference with a Dawes fitted IMHO.

I have a mbc fitted,i'm pretty sure its the 801 as the screws haven't been touched and the front and back have the same stains,markings.Will try it with standard boost control.
