Hi all

I have a strange knocking/ticking noise on my car when idling

if I hold the revs at 2k rpm I cant hear it

Its very similar (if not the same) as when you turn your engine off, and you hear a ticking/knocking noise as the engine cools down

should I be concerned, its a MY00 EU, with very recently fitted ITG Panel Filter and AE800 ECU, Magnex BB & Decat centre

Sonic,

if it's the same sounds as it makes when it's cooling down, then that'll be the heat shelds around the exhaust!

I could be other things tho - like, boost solenoid (mounted on O/S suspension turret) - although this isnt very loud!

most likely, if it's a metal rattaling noise, it's the heat shelds. it was on mine! damn anoying!

Well I didnt get the Oil Change done

but I did get Bob to gove my engine the once over, and would you believe it, it didnt make the noise !!!

he said it is running sweet tho, so nothing to worry about, and is probably just the heatshields creaking
