May also want to do a search - topic was recently discussed at length. Could also be your MAF or Lamda sensor that's on the way out.

I get a very occasional misfire only between 1.5 and 3k revs, more noticeable when the engine is cold. I'm sure i read somewhere that the ECU is running in closed loop up to about 3000rpm which points me to the lambda sensor.

Plugs have already been changed and gapped to .7 to clear a misfire higher in the rev range at WOT.

Hi Webster - you can retrieve the codes via the ECU plugs underneath the dash. If you climb into the drivers side footwell (so yer head is near yer pedals) and then look up to the bottom of the steering column you should see 2 green connectors and 2 black connectors. If you connect the 2 black ones and then turn on the ignition (But dont start the car) any codes will be indentified by the Check Engine light flashing irregularly. If the light flashed intermittantly then there are no codes stored. If you perform a Search on here you should find more info. on checking your ECU.

Hope this helps mate

This probably sounds silly, but........

I was tryig to get hold of a couple of coil packs because of a regular misfire onmy 95WRX. Had plugs changed and gaps rechecked, still misfired, and no fault codes showing.

Then one day it stopped completely. New fuel pump solved the problem. Now no misfires, and full power. It would seem that the old pump was underperforming, giving lower pressure, before finally giving up. Worth a try if nothing else works,

Jerry
