Unhappy

Hi folks,

The speedo in my '95 WRX made a funny ticking noise for a while - just the sort of noise that an old car makes when the speedo cable is going - and the needle wavered around a bit, again, just like when the cable is going.

Now it's packed up completely. Obviously the cable has gone, right?

Only I'm told that it doesn't have a speedo cable to fail.

The head was replaced 35000 miles ago and I'd like to think (hope) that it hasn't gone again.

Any suggestions?

SB

A 95 WRX does have a cable driven speedo. The ticking may have been the mph convertor failing.

Cool

It might also be the cable connection into the head coming loose... has the cable routing been disturbed for any reason? Maybe a recent clutch or turbo change?
