The back box should make no difference whatsoever, so unless you can fin d a twin=catted centre locally, then the d/p's gotta go back on.

I thought that the Jap cars didnt have a cat in the centre pipe?? just a Resonator that looks like cat? If so this would explain the reason for failing as a lot of cars pass with just the centre cat in place...
Maybe just the early cars didnt have a center cat??

In Ireland imported vehicles reregisted in Ireland from another
state only have to pass the emission standard to which the vehicle
was manufactured and originally registered
is this not the case in the UK ?

99 wrx import, scoobysport down pipe and back box fitted
still has cat centre section, mot tested and failed on emissions as i expected, is there any way to get the car through the mot
without putting these back on, if not i will have to re fit the
originals but the down pipe is a pain.
