You do need vaccuum hose there, the signal line works by "sucking" the dump valve open!

You need a hose that will withstand both vacuum AND pressure, the soft silicon stuff made by Samco is no good, for example, as it is vac hose only and won't stand pressure, if I were you I'd get a piece oif fuel hose of the right diameter and use that, make sure you clip or tie wrap it at both ends. Any soft pipe is liable to be collapsed under vac.

Hi all,

I have just had to replace the small hose that runs from the inlet manifold to the top of the standard dump valve, all i had was some soft hose of the same size, will this be ok, or dose this hose experience any vacuum at any time, in which case it will collapse.
Sorry if this is a daft question, but the hose that came off was hard.

Cheers Lee

,

I have replaced the pipe with silicon hose and there is no probs, and im running higher boost (If it makes a difference!) When you buy a dump valve kit you get silicon. I havent even put a clip round the pipe on the inlet side. It feels remotly tight but not solid. Never a Problem
Regards Ronnie

Ps Just joking on with Graphics, Nothing meant by it
