Not possible to 'disable' the turbo, but you can switch it to run very low boost, or normal, can't remember where I read how to do it now, I won't get on with low boost!

disable the turbo? heh heh! What does that do? re-route from the exhaust manifold, so that the gases dont spin the impellar? Like a robot or something. heh heh.

This can be done.

Buy a non turbo car, and when you don't want boost switch to it....

If you had an Electronic Boost Controller you could lower the boost
But cruising on the motorway you won't be on boost anyway!

You can get an EBC for about £300. I'd rather pay the petrol

This is what I have been told (it may be b****ks)
The turbo is activated by a solenoid valve connected to the manifold. If a switch is put in that switchs to another valve not connected to the manifold the turbo will not cut in.

I know it is a bit sad buying a turbo and then trying to disable it. I love the turbo for A-B road driving, but when on the motorway at about 90 I can hear the turbo cutting in, this must be wasting fuel. As I do a lot of motorway driving I thought this might save me a few quid.

You do get the same effect by not lowering your foot so far.
It might be the easiest solution
