have a chance to buy a 95 one of these. import i believe. are they any good. guy took me out in it and performance superb but the interior doesnt seem to have the usual creature comforts. I know nowt about subarus. what is the vent on the roof used for and why is it there in the first place.

TIA

You get a roof vent in it? That sounds like a STI RA V-limited to me (but I thought it only came about in 96) unless its made by the owner. Yes the interior is sh*t but thats early subarus for you.

It should have around 275 ps compared to 260 ps on an RA.

sounds like a very late sti3 ra - roof vent was std on these.....
no creature comforts due to it being a "homologation" special used to go racing/rallying with..........
as "production" rules only allow limited mods the cars came out the factory with a good base tech. spec to make conversion easier (and increase the competitiveness of the car!!)
alyn - as performance

My STi2 R/A has a roof vent. its a late 95.
get the model code off the VIN plate and its easy to check.
the r/a's seem to hold value better, especially in STi form, as there aren't so many around.
