The back up battery for the alarm. is for when the car is alarmed and the battery is diconected!!
If the car is unlocked and the alarm is off then you should have no problems diconecting the battery.
Make sure you have the code for the stereo if you need it!!!!!!!

Or see:

It works that way so if someone cuts the wires to the battery the alarm will continue to sound.
Thanks for the webpage....some light reading !!!

The quick way is to connect the black connectors together and the green connectors together which can be found under the steering column , switch on and drive moderately until the check engine light comes on .... disconnect the B & G connectors = job done !

No the connectors are above the pedals!!

BTW.
If the Alarm is not armed it will not go off if you disconect the battery!!!!
But you won't be able to alarm the car if it is disconected.

They should be there... maybe they have been tucked up right out of the way. They hang directly under the steering column. Good luck !

So thing to do is connect the green and black connectors under the steering column and drive the car till the ecu light comes on. Stop car disconnect (while running?) and thats it??

Thats it .... switch off car before connecting and disconnecting green to green and black to black. You should immediately notice the lumpyness has gone if your changing from normal ul petrol to super ul petrol
