had the CEL come on on the classic scoob and checked the codes,
It's come up with the lambda sensor ! thought it might be dodgy as my AFR seems to pack up after about 3000rpm when booting it ?

She has a scoobysport downpipe, Are there any issues with this pipe overheating the sensor ?
don't want the new one to go the same way as I think they are around £70 notes ?

Where is the best / cheapest place to get one from and will it plug straight in or am I going to have to chop wires.
A part No would be helpful too
(don't want too much do I )

Cheers anyway
Andy

Cheers

Halfords to a generic job , so you'd have to cut the wires to fit the Scooby connector. Personally, I wouldn't bother with those.

AFAIK, the originals £120 from your local friendly Scooby dealer.

buypartsby.com have universal 3 wire lambdas at around £26. I'm going to get one for my NA legacy. I've heard that the universal ones don't last as well in a turbo application as the OEM parts but its a whole lot cheaper.

not had to change one on a scooby but generally the universal units are a pain in the provebial. you have to cut and make connections, they can play up if the connections aren't perfect or if they get corroded and also don't seem to last that long

bosch units are excellent, they have the correct connections on them so its a piece of cake fitting them and you know your getting a quality product.

just checked with our bosch agent and they only list one for up to 1996 so after that it may have to be either a dealer job or universal. if you are going universal try bosch as at least its a quality brand

TSL do one for about £80 quid.
Although it doesn't have a Scooby connector, if you splice into the old sensor cable, you can keep the OEM connector.
