Question

Need Help

Window wipers on car are complete P!sh. Drivers side keeps lifting off at speed so doesn't clear window at all. It has a deflector blade fitted to it but still wants to take-off. Can anyone recommend a decent blade that stays on the car & gives a nice clean windscreen.

None of them are much good above 90, but Bosch are about the best.

Hi,

I went to halfords for my MY95 WRX wipers, they are bosch wipers with a spoiler (bosch super plus), i bought the 21 inch for the drivers side then the 18 inch for the passenger side... they where about £20 if i remember rightly..!!!

Oh, and there bloody good..

Thumbs up

Got the Bosch ones from Halford also. Bought non spoilered versions as they wouldnt fit drivers side! Went for 20" drivers side and 19" passenger side. Work fine at any speed!!!

Got Bosch on mine and they're CRAP.
They perform worse than the no-name jobbies from the market that are on the Xantia, and that's at ANY speed!

Well Guy's, you are all telling me to go for the Bosch one's, but I'm afraid thats what I bought last year and these are the one's I'm referring too as crap. I was hoping there were other makes that somebody could recommend. Never mind

Mine do the same: start skipping at high speed, rendering you BLIND! I notice the passenger side does not do it, though?

I am going to try wipers with NO spoiler on them, next, as I suspect air is travelling up the bonnet, and UNDER the wiper spoiler, lifting it from the windscreen.

If this is the case I will be experimenting with fitting spoilered items backwards, or removing/reshaping said spoiler on BOSCH items.

Just a suggestion.

Just fitted the PIAA blades, bloody marvelous not the cheapest (nothing from Piaa is) takes a bit of preperation on the windscreen but worth it. No smear, no lift off,

I tried soem from Halfords last year. Started off with their own brand ones, then the Bosch ones. None were much good and lifted off the window at speed. Took them back and got my money back.

Coughed up at the local dealers for the genuine Subaru ones, and they solved the problem completely They were expensive though, at about £20 each !!

Looking at the Bosch/Halfords ones, they only have set sets of "spring arms" to push the blade onto the screen, whereas the genuine article has 4 sets. I guess the 4 sets of smaller ones means the wiper can adapt better to the changing shape of the windscreen through the sweep of the blade, than the 3 larger ones.

Not sure about the PIAA ones - never sen them in shops before.
