ANY ADVICE PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ive spent the whole day fitting a decat downpipe and once on its about 3" short of the middle section and the end doesnt couple together!! The old cat downpipe has a ball and socket type design on the end, and the new one has a flat flange like end. So on end is flat the other has the recieving end of the ball and socket (socket end)!!!

What are my options baring in mind that I carnt butcher the cat pipe as I need it for test!!

I am in possesion of a few feet of 2.5" pipe if this is any good!!!

Yours Most Pi**ed off Ronniebiggs

Dont know the make, bought it yesterday 2nd hand (£25) its mild steel, and is only a decat pipe! Its not twin dump or anything. It only uses the same amount of volume of the turbo as the standard pipe!

I know the guy well, who I bought it off and its definatly of an impreza, but it could of been of a later model!!

Thumbs down

Ronnie,

You're screwed. I had the same thing with a HKS downpipe that turned out to be incompatible with the centre section as you described. 2 choices:-

1 get a full replacement system compatible with the new downpipe or

2 back to original downpipe.

You may be able to weld a connecting pipe but that is canabilism.

I know how you feel!

Jerome

Use the Olive from the OE downpipe, and then bolt it back together.

Thanks everyone for the help. Still dont know weather to get a new downpipe or MOD the one Ive got. Can anyone tell me if id notice much difference if it was twin dump instead of just having the large lump of steel plate that I currently have on this downpipe Ive bought. Would the gains if any be significant enough to justify spending £180

Many thanks
Ronnie
