In all this rain &wind I'm getting a puddle in the corner of the boot (MY00 4dr). Haven't had time to check properly but the boot seal seems wet, or perhaps coming thru the spolier bolts?? Anybody got any ideas or had problems?
Cheers, HotRod

do have probs with the spoiler bolts "passing water", so best to lift off the spoiler, clean/dry, then use some silicon and reseat it down, but only put it round the bolt holes, you dont have to go mad with the stuff.
Only other place is via the lamp assembly back seal, but you can usually see a wet line dropping away from the lamp,if its from there.

Check the rear light clusters, VERY prone to leaking!!!

Yeah, I had a swimming pool in the wheel well, traced it to the rear light cluster, I am told the nearside one is the worst, (it was in mine), you have to totally remove it, clean out ALL the mastic cr*p and replace it. I used a can of double glazing window sealer, seems fine now.

Yeh I had a swimming pool in the spare wheel well too. Also the jack was drowning !
I've put silicon sealer on the light clusters and that seems to have sorted some of the problem. But I have definitely got a problem with the boot seal. Having tested it by pouring water down the channel it seems to get into the rubber seal and follows it down to the latch mechanism, it then seems to get over the boot lip that the seal sits on. From here you can see the trickles down the boot back that eventually fills the wheel well. New seal needed? or some gunk to seal it better?

Just had an identical problem with mine and it was the seal itself that was leaking at the bit where it drops vertically down towards the bumper. It took me a while to find cos I was getting drips on the boot carpet about an inch out from the edge. This turned out to be condensation dripping off the inside of the boot lid!

Anyhow I've pulled that part of the seal off and bodged it up with some silicone sealer and it seems to have done the trick.
