Sensor in front bumper open area - what is it?

Just wondering what this sensor is? It's exact location would be under the number plate - i.e. where a FMIC would be. Black plastic & wired back into the car. Think I remember something about a temperature sensor but read on another thread the temp sensor is under the intake manifold.
