Since i lifted my boost (maybe not related) after i stop my car a my95 93,000 miles, full decat, dawes boost controller and fuel cut lifter, about 1 hour later when i try and start the car it will not start, it just floods. It's happening all the time now and is very embarassing in the middle of a buisy town centre.
Can anyone shed any light on the matter.

had the same problem on my 93 wrx and it was the ecu that was at fault ,got a s/h one for £100.
check the temp sensor first though maybe its telling the car is still cold when warm.

Well its not the MAF coz I have the same problem and after MAF replacement it did it again last night so either ECU as he said, or maybe coilpack, temp sensor related? who knows, Im going back to the dealer though.

Try the cam and crank sensors..

Cam sensor is below the oil filler cap area on top of the engine block.. it has a single 12mm bolt holding it in and three wires coming out of it.. the Crank sensor is between the pulley wheels at the front of the engine and looks the same as the cam sensor.

Take them out one by one and clean them (rag and WD40 for example), they are like metal drums about the size of half a pen battery.. clean them to a shine and put them back in and try that.

They are suppose to work through the dirt that they naturally pick up as the engine runs but as they get old and tired the dirt effects them. Make sure you wipe all cleaning fluid off as WD40 will attract dirt to stick to it.

If it solves the problem then get ready to replace one or both of them when it reoccurs or keep cleaning them etc..

I think Halfords do replacements at about 100pounds but don't last as long as the original Subaru ones.

Becareful tightenning the bolt back up as the top that bolts in is plastic and splits easy.. only moderate tightness on the bolt required etc..

Hopefully this is the problem.

not touching the throtle and tried fitting new plugs, coils ect at a large cost.It didn't help but sorted out my misfire when the engines hot.
