Im well pleased after fitting this, a little peace of mind

As soon as my boost goes posotive it goes to the start of Rich (1st green light) which is encouraging.

At full boost I get the 2nd and 3rd lights, just next to "I" on rIch.

Sound about right or should it go all the way? Im not sure what the voltage settings for each light are...

ta,

Same for me. MY00 Dawes fitted set to 16.5-17 lbs boost. Always in the "GREEN" under full throttle acceleration.

FWIW, I have an APEXi turbo timer with mixture indicating function on my JDM STI7. WOT, approx 1.2bar boost in 4th, I get 10.1 to 10.2 on the APEXi.
Cheers.

Remember that the hotter the Lambda sensor gets, the leaner it will read. The Lambda sensor gets hot when you go on boost so for a reasonably accurate reading, do about 50-60 along a motorway/dual carrigeway and then boot it hard. The "Rich" reading you get for the 1st few seconds will be fairly close.

If you carry on booting it and watch the gauge (get a friend to watch the gauge, you need to look at the road, particularly when on boost ), you will probably see it start to read leaner than it was. Stay on boost long enough (like on track) and it may start reading worryingly lean but that's just how the Lambda sensor works, it reads leaner, the hotter it is.

That's why the Lambda sensor is not used when on boost and the ECU decides the fueling from a Map + the MAF feed.

Hope this helps,

Matt

Question

Just noticed it seems to depends on your speed if it goes green when the boost pressure goes over 0. Sometimes mine stays on closed loop (jump back and forward) when at half boost.

Other times it stays on green when it hits 0.

Does this sound ok? I only just noticed it, as previously I thought it always went green at 0+ boost.

IIRC,

It goes open loop at 0.5 bar or 4700rpm whichever is the sooner. Hope that helps.
