Considering getting an STi IV or V next year and want to know if either of them are ECUTEK-able.

If I go for an STi IV it will be a late model with the improved dash (and hopefully STi V Spoilers).

I know the STi IV is MY98, so I gues an ECUTEK will not be possible, but hopefully an STi V (MY99 ish) will.

The reason I mention both is really down to the purchase price. The theory being a late STi IV with STi V fron a rear spoilers would be considerabley cheaper than a genuine STi V.

No to STi IV, yes to STi V.

Sti 4 is a 97-98 vintage ecu, so more eproms etc.

However, Link is a viable option for both, and I think you might be able to get a GEMs ecu for 98 cars.
