Dodgy MAF???
Hi Everyone
Well Nine months into Scooby Bliss and i seem to have hit a snag.
Since a recent trip to Milton Keynes (though i dont think it is its fault - yet ;-) )
I am having a problem getting the Scoob (MY98) to start - or more to the point continue to run.
I turn the key and the engine fires and spins a couple of revolutions and then dies - there doesnt seem to be an idle.
The only way to start and keep running seems to be to use partial throttle for 20seconds or so then it will at least run.
On one such instance the car then sat there gently revving up and down from 600 - 1500 for about 10 mins before it calmed down.
I am running Optimax on a std 98 turbo with no mods at all.
If this a MAF problem, fuel filter?? or something else.
THe car is still under the Subaru Used car warranty but i thought i would consult your expertise so i have a better chance of standing my ground with the dealer.
Any thought would be greatfully appreciated
Mitch

I'm not an expert by any stretch....
Have you done an ecu (plug together under steering wheel) check ?
You can get error codes (do a search to find).
The ecu will give you x number of long flashes and y number of short flashes of the check engine light on the dash.
Check your findings against the code list....should give you the answer (if ecu has logged it)
Good luck.
