There seems to be a bit of discussion atm about this so I thought I'd post my results in-case any-one found them helpful and of interest.

Here goes;

my 98: 2000 Turbo
SS DP/ CS
Magnex BB
K&N 57i Induction
Dawes set at 1.15 bar (with Dawes FCL set to 1.2 bar)
HKS SS BOV
Optimax

Miles: 50765
Specification Measured Value Result
No Cat's
FAST IDLE TEST:
Fast idle RPM: 2500- 3000 2600 PASSED
Fast Idle Co vol%: 0.00- 0.30 0.46 FAILED
F.Idle HC VOLppm: 0- 200 20 PASSED
LAMBDA: 0.970- 1.030 1.010 PASSED

NATURAL IDLE TEST:
Idle RPM: 750- 1050 832 PASSED
Idle CO vol%: 0.00- 0.50 0.50 PASSED

With OEM CS
FAST IDLE TEST:
Fast idle RPM: 2500- 3000 2558 PASSED
Fast Idle Co vol%: 0.00- 0.30 0.02 PASSED
F.Idle HC VOLppm: 0- 200 18 PASSED
LAMBDA: 0.970- 1.030 1.010 PASSED

NATURAL IDLE TEST:
Idle RPM: 750- 1050 782 PASSED
Idle CO vol%: 0.00- 0.50 0.03 PASSED

Nope Straight Through

2.5 inch diameter, I think, or is that from a 3.5 to 2.5 (OEM sized CS)

Well I aint taken the feckin thing off to measure
I’m sure someone will tell.

Loads of pops and bangs (farts if u ask some ppl) And FLAIMES which then scares and shuts those ppl up

When driving home on the OEM (catted) CS I was still getting a fer few pops!!! Not as loud when the SS CS is on though just out of interest.

Thats a hell YES PASS!

It flu through with the OEM CS

Vinesh posted his results in Drivetrain from a MOT emissions test on a standerd(?) MY99 and recorded 0.01% vol CO on fast idle. A hole 0.01%vol less than I recorded with just the OEM CS.

your cars spec is almost identical to my MY98

i think i will give that a try next month when my MOT is due
