I GOTTA MY95 UK DECIDED TODAY TO DO AN OIL CHANGE, BROUGHT MYSELF 4 LITRES OF MOBIL 1, LET OLD OIL OUT CHANGED FILTER PUT 4 LITRES OF OIL IN AND ITS NOT EVEN TOUCHED THE DIPSTICK. CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE 2 LET ME KNOW HOW MUCH MORE MOBIL 1 I GOTTA BUY TO BRING IT UP YTO SUITABLE LEVEL CHEERS SI

 

4.5 litres IIRC.

I take it you mean when your saying Mobil1 your talking about the 15w50 motorsport oil (fully synth) and not the 0w40 rated fully synth??

D.JSI, when did u measure with the dip stick, right after adding the oil? It takes a while for the oil to settle down into the sump, so you get false readings unless u wait a while. 4 L should get u to the bottom of the 2 marks at least. That's what I normally do, give the garage 4L and then top up the balance myself, safer than risk overfilling.

 

TONY na i got mobil 1 0 / 40w OH no is that wrong what will it do any damage. i read i of other threads and i thought it was supposed to be ok cheers si

 

LOKOKKEE yea i had give it a while topped up today level fine now cheers. my concern now is the grade of oil i put in as tony above said.( LOOKS LIKE I MIGHT BE DOING ANOTHER OIL CHANGE SOONER THAN I THOUGHT)nightmere si
